Program Purpose

The purpose of the Graduate Trainee Program is partially to allow the KCB Bank to:

  • Develop a KCB talent pool of potential candidates for future permanent vacancies,
  • Provide young Burundians with a learning environment that will enable them to establish their first contact with the employment world,
  • Give young Burundians the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge,
  • Prevent the young Burundian talents’ applications from being rejected due to lack of professional experience.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business related fields like Banking, accounting, IT, Business Administration, Audit, Human Resources, Marketing, Commerce, Logistics, and Procurement,
  • Basic computer skills (Excel/Word),
  • Fluency in French and at least an intermediate level of English is required.

Application file:

When applying, the applicant to the program will submit:

  • A cover letter,
  • A certified copy of the university degree/certificate,
  • The transcripts of the 3 years for bachelor or of the last 2 years for Masters,
  • A letter of recommendation from your University.

Note:  Graduates from foreign universities are admissible upon presentation of a recommendation from their Institutions.

Selection process

  • Only candidates who graduated in the last three (3) years are eligible for the selection tests,
  • A selection tests will be organized by KCB Bank,
  • Graduate trainees will be hired based on the available vacancies.

Graduate Trainee Program’ modalities

  • The Graduate Trainee Program is for a period of one (year and is carried out at KCB Bank Burundi Head Office and in the branches,
  • The trainee must comply with the KCB policies, HR Manual of Procedures, and the Code of Conduct of KCB Bank Burundi,
  • The onboarding, induction and supervision of the Graduate Trainee is assigned to a specific Line manager,
  • The Line Manager will coach him/her and will also carry out the appraisals of the graduate’s performance and potential.

Social Security Cover

  • The Bank will assure the medical cover and social security Cover for the Graduate Trainee.

End of the Graduate Trainee Program:

  • TheLine Manager will submit anoverallassessmentofthe graduate trainee’sperformance,
  • The graduate traineewill submitareportontheprogram,theknowledgeacquired,,
  • The graduate traineewill returnall health and safetyequipment, access tools andotherbank materials handled tohimorheratthebeginningoftheprogram,
  • TheHumanResourcesDepartment will granthim/hera Certificate,
  • Graduate Trainees with high assessments’ scores will be in KCB Talent Pool for consideration in further recruitment processes.
