Position Overview
The Project Coordinator will oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of community development projects. This role involves fostering strong partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders, ensuring effective project delivery, and representing the NGO in the community to enhance project impact and visibility.
In addition to managing project activities, the Project Coordinator will support efforts to secure additional funding for community interventions and work closely with technical experts to maintain high-quality implementation in alignment with organizational goals.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Project Management and Implementation
- Plan, organize, and oversee project activities to ensure effective delivery.
- Coordinate internal and external communication related to project implementation.
- Partnership and Stakeholder Management
- Oversee and support the activities of implementing partners.
- Collaborate with local partners, government representatives, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Maintain strong working relationships with partners and explore opportunities to enhance collaboration.
- Facilitate capacity-building efforts for local partners to improve service delivery.
- Represent the NGO at relevant national events when required.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Monitor the implementation of project activities and budget expenditures.
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation systems to track the project’s effectiveness and impact.
- Ensure timely internal and external program evaluations.
- Prepare, review, and disseminate project-related reports and progress updates.
- Conduct regular field visits to assess program quality and provide technical support to partners.
- Actively share knowledge and lessons learned to improve project outcomes.
- Build the capacity of implementing partners to sustain project interventions.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in international development, social science, community development, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in community-based projects or resilience-building initiatives.
- Proven experience in managing partnerships, including collaboration with government structures.
- Strong planning and organizational skills to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing reports and external communications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Fluency in English and French (spoken and written).
- Willingness to travel frequently to field locations.
