Part-Time Lecturer Position in the Department of Pharmacy

School of Health Sciences Position Overview:

The Department of Pharmacy at the School of Health Sciences is seeking a qualified part-time lecturer to teach courses in Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Unit Operations, and Pharmaceutical Microbiology.

Olivia University delivers all programs in English. Fluency in the English language is highly preferred.

Courses to Teach:

1. Pharmacognosy
2. Pharmaceutical Chemistry
3. Unit Operations
4. Pharmaceutical Microbiology

Qualifications: Educational Qualifications:

• Minimum Education:

o Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) with a specialization in a relevant field.

• Preferred Education:

o A PhD in Pharmacy, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field is highly desirable.

Professional Experience:

• Teaching Experience:

o A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the university level in relevant courses.

• Industry Experience:

o Practical experience in the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage. Skills and Competencies:

• Subject Matter Expertise:

o In-depth knowledge and expertise in the specific courses listed above.

o Ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner to students.

• Teaching Skills:

o Proven ability to develop and deliver engaging course content.

o Experience with different teaching methodologies and technologies, including online learning

platforms.

• Research and Development:

o Engagement in research activities related to Pharmacy.

o A record of publications in peer-reviewed journals is advantageous.

o Ability to supervise student research projects and guide them through the research process.

• Communication Skills:

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills(English).

o Ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and staff.

o Strong mentoring skills to support student academic and professional development.

o Commitment to staying current with advancements in pharmaceutical sciences and integrating new

Responsibilities:

• Course Preparation and Delivery:

o Develop and deliver lectures, laboratory sessions, and assessments for assigned courses.

o Prepare course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, and examinations.

• Student Engagement:

o Engage students through interactive teaching methods.

o Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.

• Assessment and Evaluation:

o Evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and practical exams.

o Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their understanding and skills.

• Research and Scholarly Activities:

o Participate in research activities and contribute to the academic community.

o Encourage and supervise student research projects.

• Professional Service:

o Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the department.
